Professor Yanwei Liu earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Wuhan University, a Master’s degree in Optics from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Applied Science and Technology from the University of California, Berkeley. He has held positions at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the University of California, Berkeley, KLA Corporation in Silicon Valley, Stanford University, and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. With nearly three decades of dedicated research in the field of X-ray optics, his work spans multiple key areas including X-ray sources, multilayer mirrors and nanoscale diffractive optical elements, high-resolution imaging, metrology and inspection systems, computational optics and algorithms. He has long been committed to the development and application of highly sophisticated short-wavelength optical instrumentation platforms, making significant contributions to the advancement of fundamental scientific fields such as physics and materials science.
